Mobile Augmented Reality and Outdoor Education

This paper describes a research project that explored the use of mobile augmented reality combined with outdoor education in Swedish primary school. Special attention was paid to (AR). Project documentation and communication were reviewed, three iterations design usability evaluations Minnesmark AR platform made. Observations interviews held teachers students. The results describe early experiments, both opportunities challenges faced participating teachers. included connecting learning environment indoor environment, directing students' focus, posing questions affording actions, rendering symbols timelines visible, providing point entry context narrative, facilitating conceptualization. Challenges concerned how make pedagogical landscape, producing or choosing content, structuring processes, setting up student groups, aligning activities content objectives. It is concluded students used places local outside classroom, starting increase authenticity teaching.
